In recognition of the vital role of blood donors, June 14th marks World Blood Donor Day, a global event to celebrate and thank donors worldwide. It’s a perfect time to consider making a donation and contributing to this essential cause. Did you know that a single pint of blood can save up to three lives? Volunteer donors are essential for maintaining a stable blood supply. Carter BloodCare, one of Texas's largest blood centers, urgently needs regular donations. We are proud to share that on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, STRATA hosted Carter BloodCare’s donation bus. Fifteen members of the STRATA team participated in this life-saving event. We thank our team for their contributions, knowing they make a meaningful difference in our community.

Saving Lives One Donation at a Time

Carter BloodCare features a dedicated page highlighting stories from actual recipients, emphasizing the vital importance of blood donation.

With a donation process that takes less than an hour, you can easily help save someone’s life, just like Breonna, whose inspiring story is featured on Carter BloodCare’s website. Her journey with sickle cell anemia illustrates the ongoing need for blood donations and serves as a beacon of hope for others living with similar circumstances:

The aftermath of the stroke painted a grim picture, with doctors expressing doubts about my prospects, even questioning whether I would wake up the next day. However, a remarkable twist occurred when my mother entered my room the following day to find me sitting up and singing, marking the dawning of my resilience in the face of sickle cell.

My path forward included regular blood transfusions. I’m profoundly indebted to Carter BloodCare for their relentless efforts in finding compatible donors...

Today, my mission is to serve as a beacon of hope for fellow sickle cell and blood transfusion recipients, to demonstrate brighter days and a promising future are not only attainable but well within reach."

— Breonna.

Carter BloodCare's website provides an updated chart where you can view current blood supply statistics, learn which blood types are most needed in your community, and see how your donation can make a difference.
