POSITION SUMMARY
We have an immediate opening for an Operations Support Specialist in our Waco office. You will play a key role in creating a positive client experience for our existing clients, new clients, internal teams, and business partner relationships by handling a number of tasks associated with supporting the larger Operations and Client Services teams. Tasks could include maintaining incoming and outgoing physical mail, managing shared email inboxes, processing account updates such as an address change or beneficiary designations, filing paperwork in our digital image database and in our safekeeping vault, and assist with special projects and tasks as needed. Meanwhile, you will have the full support of a highly experienced financial services team that will provide you with training, collateral, and other support as needed.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
This position is an integral part of the client experience and will work closely with all members of the Client Experience team.
- Be introduced to core parts of STRATA’s business model including Client Services, Operations, and Compliance. You will learn our business model our core values, and our value proposition to clients and other stakeholders.
- Learn the different types of IRAs and IRS regulations for self-directed Traditional, Roth, SEP, and SIMPLE IRAs through training within the first 6 weeks of employment.
- Learn about the variety of asset classes our customers use to direct their own retirement, including private equity, private debt, crowdfunding, real estate, real estate partnerships, and precious metals.
- Learn how to process a variety of client, investment relationship, and internal tasks using multiple software programs. Tasks could range from clerical and administrative, to serving as backup for the operations teams.
- Serve our clients by processing account transactions and other account actions in a timely manner. Your attention to detail will be important to execute with high quality in accordance with our service level expectations.
- Work with your team in an office setting, which includes collaborative thinking spaces throughout. For day-to-day tasks, you will work in your cubicle which will included all necessary equipment to allow you to operate on your own.
- Communicate with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders daily, employing your verbal and written communication skills.
- Build on foundational training courses to develop your knowledge across the alternative investment IRA market.
- Take on new duties and responsibilities as you demonstrate the aptitude and ability to do so.
- Meet bi-weekly with your manager to review your progress, the team’s progress, discuss your feedback, and further your career development with us.

We are searching for self-motivated individuals with a great attitude and proven success in their experience to join our team. The ideal candidate possesses:
- 2-5 years equivalent work experience in financial services preferred, which demonstrates the skills, aptitude, and abilities to perform the duties of this position.
- Passion for service with strong client-focus and the desire to help people across all departments.
- Strong reasoning abilities including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Exceptional organizational skills required.
- Ability to prioritize and work well under deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven problem-solving skills.
- Aptitude for accuracy and detail while under timing deadlines.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple software programs to complete tasks.
- Knowledge of investments or experience with investment processing is a plus, particularly if it includes other alternative asset transactions.
